Community Coffee Morning Event – Stay connected, stay supported, and stay inspired!

Our Community Coffee Morning was a successful event, bringing together a wonderful group of attendees who engaged in meaningful conversations, shared advice, and built new connections. With a total of 9 participants (including two adorable young children), the event proved to be a lively and supportive space for everyone involved.

Attendees had the chance to connect with others who shared similar interests, offering advice and exchanging contact details. The event fostered a supportive environment where participants could learn from each other and make valuable connections.
The informal setting allowed for open discussions on a wide range of topics, from housing and career development to personal health and well-being. Attendees shared useful information, advice, and resources, creating an atmosphere of collaboration and learning. Laughter, support, and camaraderie filled the room, with participants enjoying lighthearted moments and sharing personal stories. The event truly captured the spirit of community.

One attendee expressed her gratitude for attending, sharing, “I’m glad I came today, otherwise I would be at home all day.” She participated in discussions about her housing issues and received valuable advice from someone with over 30 years of experience in the Housing Sector. Additionally, she discussed her career ambitions in the food sector and explored ideas for organising a pop-up event.

Another individual arrived a bit later after attending a blood test appointment. Despite the delay, he joined in the conversations and was seen laughing and discussing logistics for hosting pop-up events. He also shared some lighthearted moments around cultural differences. His positive and easy-going attitude contributed to the relaxed atmosphere of the event. He remarked, “Thank you for inviting me!”

A third attendee, observing Ramadan, could not eat or drink but still took advantage of the event by collecting several information leaflets. She shared her struggles with fertility and back pain, seeking advice from others. She received helpful recommendations on pain management and swimming. Her enthusiasm to attend future events was clear, as she said, “I will come to the next event and I’ll make sure to eat/drink!”

One participant arrived a little later and made it a point to explore local services for her son, including boxing facilities. She engaged with other attendees and exchanged contact information, particularly with someone experienced in housing. She expressed interest in attending future events, especially those held at Pontoon Dock, saying, “I’ll come to the next one at Pontoon Dock!”

Another attendee arrived late due to family commitments, but her baby daughter quickly became the star of the event, delighting the group. Despite arriving late, she engaged in conversations while attending to her child. She expressed a strong interest in returning to future events, saying, “Sorry I came late – I’ll come to the next one!”

The Community Coffee Morning takes place alternately at Albert Road or Pontoon Dock every two weeks. We are excited to continue this series of events, where attendees can engage, learn, and support one another in a welcoming and inclusive space.

We encourage everyone to join us for the next coffee morning, whether you’re a returning participant or new to the group. These events provide a wonderful opportunity to network, share experiences, and gather valuable information.
